We now offer a brand new premium modification service - basically, any of the modifications we perform that use switches can now be done with our custom built switchless modification boards. With the exception of the Saturn mod which was designed by Seb, they have all be designed by our skilled electronic engineers and are available exclusively through Console Passion!

Basically you will get exactly the same result as with the other modifications, but instead of having external switches fitted to consoles you can control the changes using the reset switch or pause button (depending on which console you have modified).
The change you make will depend on how long you hold the button for. For example with the Sega Saturn, the changes will be as follows:
Less than 0.5 seconds = Normal reset 05 seconds - 1.5 seconds = Change display on the fly More than 1.5 seconds = Change region
The LED will flash and change colour indicating the region. The colour of the LED will vary depending on which console you have modified.
The display type will also change to the appropriate setting with the region change (i.e. the display for Europe will change to 50Hz) but if you wish you can change the display type 'on the fly' allowing 60Hz display for Europe or 50Hz for USA/Japan should you wish.
The chip also stores your last setting and will power on again with the same choice. The LED will flash twice on power-up and the LED colour will indicate your region.
Essentially, the modification is the same on all consoles - the Megadrive is identical to the Saturn, as is the Nomad but this comes with the addition of a region LED fitted. The Super Nintendo & Super Famicom have two settings rather than three - Region lockout enabled / disabled. Of course you can still change the display setting on the fly. The Sega Mega-CD 1 combo is the same as the Megadrive, but changing the Megadrive region will also change the Mega-CD region accordingly.

Where appropriate, these prices all include slot widening to accommodate the larger import cartridges.
The remaining consoles will follow shortly (Master System, Neo Geo CD etc).
The cost of these modifications is slightly higher than the normal ones due to the extra parts & time involved, but we have already had incredible feedback and these are already very popular. Credit must go to Seb for the design of the original Saturn mod and inspiration for all the others.
