Modification Sega Master System
Just two modifications exists for the Sega Master System. Details of these modifications are listed below. I provide a full 3 month warranty on any console I modify and all work I do is carried out to the highest standards.
Please note I will fully check any consoles before modifying them, and any found to be faulty will be returned without any work being undertaken. Please use the Console Modification Enquiry form to request any of these modifications or to ask us any questions.
Update: We no longer fit switched mods due to their unreliability and problems with them getting damaged in the post. We only fit the switchless mod boards now. These mods have all the features described below, without the need for external switches to be added.
Have a look at our Switchless Modification page for more information and a video demonstration.
Sega Master System 2 Full Modification
Both the modifications described below - add a 50Hz/60Hz switch and perform an RGB mod. Only required on the Master System 2 as the Master System 1 already has an AV socket. If you require a scart as well the price will be an extra £10.
Sega Master System 50Hz/60Hz Switch
I can add a switch to the Sega Master System base unit which toggles between a 50hz and 60hz output. This will not only allow you to play your games in full screen mode instead of the squashed letterbox mode, but will also play them at full speed - almost 20% faster than normal PAL speed! Play Alex Kidd as it is supposed to be - in 60Hz, much faster!

Sega Master System 2 RGB mod - £25 UK plus return postage
The Master System 2 is a cut down version of the Sega Master System, and unfortunately had the AV port removed. This means that you have no option other than RF which is the worst quality picture of all the possible connections. Thankfully, it is possibly to tap the RGB signals and add a nice 8 pin AV socket to the back of the console. This will allow you to connect a scart lead and have your Master System outputting lovely colour the way is should be displayed. If you need a scart lead as well we can supply these for an extra £10 - please let me know when you enquire about the mods.
Please note, that to play your games in 60Hz mode, your TV must be able to run a 60Hz signal. Almost all newer TV's run 60Hz, but if you are unsure please check with your manufacturers manual before having this modification done - Console Passion will not provide any refunds for persons who cannot run a 60Hz display.
Please use the Console Modification Enquiry form to request any of these modifications or to ask us any questions.
